Big Guy Beer

The first batch of Big Guy Beer was lovingly crafted in May of 1997 by myself (Steve) and two friends, Mike and Serry. The process took place in Serry's kitchen (and living room, and yes, even the bathroom where the fermentation pot was placed in the bathtub and tenderly bathed like a newborn to cool the wort down). That first batch took us nearly 12 hours to make because frankly, we had no frickin' idea what we were doing. Now, over a year and half later, we can brew a new batch and bottle an existing one at the same time all in the space of about an hour.

We haved brewed several different recipies including a stout and some raspberry and cherry, but our "signature" beer is our malt amber. It is a big hit at parties and goes great with just about any kind of food, although Mike says it's best with steak, preferably grilled (and I must say I concur). So, feel free to check out the recipies we've tried and try them yourself if you haven't yet. If you're a novice homebrewer, remember that there is nothing wrong with experimenting and you will probably make some batches that taste like crap, but it's all for the greater good so keep brewing. If your friends are anything like mine, you'll have no shortage of guinea pig test subjects. As for you experts, to quote Bruce Lee; "take what is useful and go from there".And please feel free to send me your comments, suggestions, tips, stories, questions, and of course recipies and I will add them to the site.
